Young Eagles

We are so excited to be able to offer the opportunity of a Young Eagles flight experience in conjunction with the Durango Chapter of the Experimental Aircraft Association. This promises to be an extremely exciting event for all of our clients! It was a huge success last year! Participants need to be under 18 years old. Creeper Jeeper Day

The local 4x4 club, the Creeper Jeepers, will provide a day of fun and four-wheeling to ASA participants. We will meet at the ASA in town parking lot and will head out from there! Participants will pair up with club members and will head to the hills outside of Bayfield, CO. BBQ lunch will be provided! Please call the office to reserve your spot!! This trip is a favorite and WILL fill up!

Military San Juan River Trip

The San Juan river is one of the most famous stretches of water in the West. This 58 mile trip is one of the most popular river trips in the country and we can’t wait to show you why! The river flows through spectacular canyons that many have dubbed a “mini Grand Canyon!”

Participants will be flown into Durango, CO and shuttled to Mexican Hat UT, where their journey will begin. The breathtaking scenery, including meandering goosenecks combine with rich natural and human history
to make this trip one you won’t soon forget. Participants will be encouraged to work together as they navigate the canyon in paddle rafts, oar boats and inflatable kayaks. Nights will be spent in the canyons sleeping under the stars. The trip will end at the Clay Hills takeout and participants will be driven back to Durango where they will spend the night and be flown home the next day.

This trip is open to veterans and active duty service members with a permanent disability. ASA will cover all of the costs associated with the trip including airfare, lodging, transportation, most meals, guides, boats, and adaptive equipment to make the trip more comfortable including accessible portable toilets, beach mats, and raft chairs.

Fischer Towers Multi-Day Trip

Join the Adaptive Sports Association on a breathtakingly beautiful stretch of the Colorado River outside of Moab, Utah. The Fischer Towers section of river, named for the series of spectacular rock towers that can be seen from the river, is the perfect introduction into desert river trips.

The folks at ASA will provide everything needed for a fun filled and relaxing trip on the river. We will bring inflatable kayaks and a paddle boat for those looking for a bit more adventure through the splashy rapids. For those looking to kick back and take in the scenery, guide powered oar boats will be available as well.

This trip is open to anyone with a physical disability. ASA covers all of the costs "on river". We ask participants to cover transportation to and from Durango, lodging on either side of the trip and some meals. Veteran's are eligible to come free of charge.

Summer Sampler

Durango has so much to offer including fishing, camping, climbing and more! All of this in a setting of 13,000 ft peaks, meandering rivers and streams, and placid high country lakes.

The Summer Sampler will expose participants to a little bit of what Southwest Colorado has to offer. Activities will include an introduction to adaptive scuba diving, water skiing, fly fishing and canoeing and kayaking.

Locals Capstone Trip

ASA will be taking a group of our local clients on the Fischer Towers section of the Colorado River.
