Come join in on the fun in the sun as we launch into our 11th summer of activities in and around beautiful Durango, Colorado!! While our program may have changed a bit over the years, our original mission has remained the same. We strive to provide the outdoor recreational opportunities that Durango and the Rocky Mountains are known for to any individual with a disability and their families and friends!

Equipment is adapted to meet the needs of people with disabilities, so that everyone can take part in activities such as whitewater rafting, flat-water canoeing and kayaking, fishing, cycling, camping and much more. Come explore the beauty and wonder of the San Juan Mountains with the Adaptive Sports Association!

We run pre-scheduled trips from the beginning of June through the end of August as well as schedule custom trips for groups of any size! Please feel free to give our office a call, we would love to answer any questions you may have, as well as help you plan your dream getaway to Durango!!

Rafting on the Animas

Come with us to explore one of the last free flowing rivers in the United States. The Animas River begins in the small historic town of Silverton flowing South through Durango and through the Southern Ute Native American Reservations of Colorado and New Mexico. A river trip down the Animas river will be educational as your guides explore the past, and exhilarating with the excitement of Smelter, Santa Rita and Sawmill rapids. A trip down the Animas River is sure to be on the list of highlights for your Durango experience.

We offer half day rafting trips (typically either 9am-12pm or 1pm-4pm) throughout the summer season. We can also customize a trip especially for your group! Give us a call; we can work out the details!

As this is an extremely popular activity, we recommend making reservations at least 2 weeks in advance!
